RE: no more

I guess this is my swan song, going to a site that needs my kinda prodding.I know when I am not wanted, when you delete my post.I guess the moderators run things here, and they want to be important. They can't handle my kind of fun,so heres to ya!......#$#$%$%%^&^%$%:C And what site could you be going to, that involves prodding? Redneck School Bus Chasers, maybe? Southern Anal Explorers? Racist Rebels With BMW Bikes? Come on Willie! Even with all of you're "shortcomings", I'd never thought you would back down from a fight. Try promoting you're thoughts without demeaning other races, young people, women, non-Americans, non-Veterans or anyone else different from you. Like Obama says: "Time for Change".

RE: The dumbing down of todays new ute riders.

I hate the reverse limiter on my Grizzly, when I'm plowing driveways. It cuts the power at about 8mph when backing up. I hit 20 plus mph backing up heavy equipment, including loaders weighing 35+ tons, plowing lots. Yamaha thinks we can't handle +8 mph, backing up a 600lb quad. The shame. But I guess liability factors in too. At least Caterpillar dosen't have have a reverse limiter on my 980F loader.

RE: is the spell check not working for anyone else?

I can't help but wonder how many members tried to post earlier today, or how many visitors were not able to read the forum, since the @$&*! thing was down for hours. The hamster must have fallen off the wheel again; at their server!

RE: Hmmmm....what would happen?

From what I've heard and read about the Thundercat is, that nothing can touch them in straight line acceleration. However, rough up the terrain, and throw a few curves in, the Renegade and the 450's will reel it in. All the utilities mentioned are truly remarkable, when you consider they lose 15-20% of their usable power through the belt drive clutch system. And that they weigh 500-700lbs. I wish some big bores had the option of letting you choose a manual or at least a semi-auto, with these big motors. Suzuki's Vinson 500 is gone. I think AC makes a 500 semi-auto, but their a dying breed. Their aren't many options for gear shifters anymore.

RE: Setting Up a Utility For Ice Fishing.

This time of year you will be hard pressed to get a reply from Stumper. He is too busy sitting in his igloo on some lake with a hole in the floor. He used to bring his lap-top computer with him to the shanty. I don't think there's enough solid ice formed, to support Stumper. He's a big boy as you know.

Setting Up a Utility For Ice Fishing.

Who here uses their ATV for ice fishing. I have, over the past few years, on a limited scale. This year I'd like to really set it up properly. I'm thinking extended rear rack, for carrying a portable shelter, tire chains/ tracks, stud the tires, auger carrier. Already have gps, tow behind sled and basic gear. Any other suggestions? Stumper where are you?

RE: In case we don't hear from you for awhile.....

Many historions now think that Dec. 25th is achually not the real birthday of Jesus. But rather an action by the Roman Catholic Church to incorporate a Pagen holiday on that date, to appease the masses. They think Jesus was really born in the spring, the same time the Shepard's lambs would be born. But no one really knows for sure. The Christmas princible is a good one, except for the commercilism of it all. Sorry about the spelling train wreck; spell-check, still not working. And I've had about a dozen Sam Adams today. :B Original Boston Lager, or the Winter Lager? Good stuff either way. My Daughter bought a Sam Adam's Winter sampler case, for me. 4 ea. of: Boston Lager, Cream Stout, Winter Lager, Holiday Porter,(My favorite), Old Fezziwig Ale, and Cranberry Lambic,(least favorite). But, the worst tasting Sam Adams is still 10 times better than the best offering from Bud.

RE: Want more ATV stories, images, videos, etc?

LMAO@GreyGrizz!!! I'm not sure if its a poor server setup, the software itself, or both, but we've lost many a member due to the fact the site is less than reliable. I've PMed people about it...no reply, and it doesn't seem to get fixed. Three years ago, the average daily post count was in the 300-400 range. Now its rare we get 30-40, despite the sport being more popular than ever. Last weekend, we had 16 posts on Friday, 10 on Saturday, and none at all when I finally logged on at 7pm Sunday. Oh yeah, this makes post number 13 today once I post this. This forum has had some great great members over the years. Too bad they have functionality prerequisites. Fix the forum, and maybe we can get some members back, and there will be someone to read the blog. On a brighter note, the blog has some interesting stuff in it...check it out. Prince Valiant has some interesting things to write about, and from my understanding, his future blog postings will be even better. No personal disrespect intended. But wouldn't a smoother operating forum possibly result in more exposure for their magazine? You reap what you sow, and it seams that their intent on harvesting a crop of miniture corn!

RE: is the spell check not working for anyone else?

I like to try to spell check after each post I make and lately the spell check hasn't been working for me. Has anyone else had this problem? It's not even worth trying to use anymore. I just wing it, and hope I'm close, with the spelling.

CC, You realize that I'm the Mod, right? And that this forum is a sister to the atvmagblog.com? And all of our online sites are related to our print publications (ATV Magazine, ATV Sport, UTV Magazine)? Just checking. Thanks Of course, just as you realize that I am the Mod with the twisted sense of humor. I think you have to be a little twisted, just to survive here. Hey Mister higher-up publishing man; any trouble logging in with this 1940's ish forum software? We deal with it everyday.

RE: gotta love mother nature:)

Ice storm here Thursday night. Lost power at 10PM Thursday, and didn't get it back until 2PM Monday. There were over 500,000 power customers out in New Hampshire alone, and some might be out until after Christmas, as there is apparently a shortage of transformers. Never saw such devastation, or so many trees ripped down.A friend of mine, in Derry NH, is still without power. Derry was 100% without electricity. Good thing he has a generator, pellet and wood stove, to keep warm. Took me an hour to get to work, on what's normally a 10 minute ride.

RE: Pics from last nights Dead Season show in Boston.

Me and my girl saw a band from Maine last night called Dead Season at a club in Boston called Bill's Bar. Great guys, great band and a killer night all in all. I am the dude in the wheelchair. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn46/wrczx3/DSC01712.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn46/wrczx3/DSC01710.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn46/wrczx3/DSC01708.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn46/wrczx3/DSC01711.jpg Girl bands are fun to see. Even if their music sucks, you can tolerate that if their hot. I saw Lita Ford, many years ago, in one of her early appearences. I forget the band name, but definatly remember her.

RE: Trail etiquette.

What's your story CC? This happened maybe the second time I ever rode. I was out riding with NHKINGQUAD. Being the experienced rider, he was leading the way down a trail. It was about 20 degrees out, and winter was just starting to rear is ugly head. There had been about 10 days of solid rain just prior to this, and normally dry trails were littered with pools of ice/slush/water up to 2 feet deep. We would ride at a good pace between these hazards, then creep through them so as to avoid getting soaked. Did I mention it was 20 degrees out? Anyhow, as we were coming down a hill into a pretty large water hole, some guy flies up next to NHKINGQUAD doing 30-40mph and hits the water next to him. This created a wall of water that seemed to be about 8 feet high...until it landed on NHKING. I give the guy credit. If some dude had done that to me, I'd have hunted him down and gutted him, but he kept his cool, despite being soaked head to toe with a semi frozen mix of water and swamp muck. Some people have no sense of decency. I also hate it when you are riding on the trail fairly agressively, and the guy following you is so close, that one wrong move would make him part of your rear suspension. Its especially dosconcerting if you know their brakes aren't the best, or if you know they're not a very good rider. I have one buddy that I snapped at for just this reason. I told him I shouldn't be able to hear his motor better than I can hear my own. If they want me to lead the way, cuz I know the trails, then they'd better give me some room. Let me guess. It had to have happened at the Freemont trails, right? I've encountered a greater concentration of in-bred morons, on that trail, than anywhere else. Must be some kind of contamination, in their well water. What pisses me off, is that they jeperdize the safety of the younger kids, learning to ride. I usually carry an aluminum baseball bat, in my trail box, it teaches trail etiquette, quite well.

RE: All Heart-Wendel Clark, best hockey fighter ever

did he get inducted? lol i must have missed it, bourque deserved it. do you pay close attention to gockey at all? i do most of the ime but the white and blue arent working out this year, hopefully the new managemrnt will be able to figure it out I'm old enough to remember when the Bruins were really good. Boston was quite the hockey town, back then. Nice to see them doing pretty well this year. Chara is a freak of nature. His slapshots are hitting over 100 mph, on a regular basis.

RE: Need help finding Jeep

For what its worth here is my AMC CJ5 304, 3 speed, yadda yadda. http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d80/princevaliant/1124081144a.jpg Love the pre-Chrysler Jeeps. AMC was a pretty good manufacturer. I had a 1980 AMC Eagle,4 wheel drive car. It had the 258ci Jeep motor in it. One of the best cars, I have owned.

Yes Wendel Clark is a tough s.o.b. He reminds me of Cam Neely's, never say die attitude. Here's some highligts of Cam's career. Cam Neely Tribute.

His YFZ scares me. Scary fast. Yeah wait till you finally hit 3rd gear... ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM. ;) I do think you're old Raptor 80, was scarier, though. Mostly because the bars hit my knees.
